Managerless Leicester City take on managerless Burnely today in The Championship

Contrary to expectation and chairman Milan Mandaric’s wishes, Leicester have failed to confirm a permanent successor to Gary Megson meaning caretakers Frank Burrows and Gerry Taggart will take Leicester into their 4th league match, hoping to maintain their unbeaten record.

Burnley themselves are without a manager, having parted with Steve Cotterill on mutual terms earlier this week. There is even some speculation that the former coach during Micky Adams’ reign will become part of the City management team.

Both teams will be looking to enter the international break on a high, just as Leicester did last time with a 2-0 win up at Hillsborough.

Leicester will also welcome the break as an opportunity to regroup and recover from a string of injuries, particularly in midfield. A loan signing in this department would surely boost the squad however this may have to wait until a manager is confirmed.

Vital Quotes:

Caretaker Burrows refuses to rush players back despite the injury crisis

‘Stephen might be fit, while Iain and young Jimmy are also not far away. On top of that we are waiting on Gareth and DJ who picked up knocks at Preston.

‘As we stand I don’t know if Gareth will be available for the game or not. If it was left to the player then I think he would be because he is that sort of a man. He’s one of those men who can be too brave.

‘But I have got a philosophy of miss one and play 10. If Gareth is not right then I am not going to play him.’

Leicester CIty Team News:

Leicester are starting to emerge from their injury crisis. Clemence may be fit, Wesolowski, Hume and Porter are all out.

McAuley is doubtful in midfield. Campbell who also picked up a knock against Preston could play.

Sheehan is suspended after picking up 5 bookings, King returned from injury against Preston and could play a part.

Player to watch: DJ Campbell

Campbell is starting to live up to the expectations of his 2M price tag. The link up play between him, Collins John and Fryatt has been good and the strikers are finally starting to come up with the goals.

Burnley Team News:

David Unsworth is suspended, captain Caldwell is out injured.

Steve Davis takes charge of the managerless Burnely for this game, how interesting.

Player to watch: Ade Akinbiyi

Burnley haven’t scored in their last two games but what odds of Leicester misfit Akinbiyi scoring against us today?
