What a lovely pair

Leicester fans will be looking for their team to continue their winning run in pre-season when they play Stockport County tonight (Kick off 19:45). Two wins in their last two games against Boston United (4-1) and Macclesfield Town (1-0) will give fans hope, but those who travelled to the two games will be hoping for a more consistent performance tonight.

The start of the season is only two weeks away and it time for the players to start giving the fans something to be confident about, especially after the struggles Leicester had last season. Foxes fans can expect Rob Kelly to adopt a similar strategy as the two previous games and will use several substitutions, to allow players to gain match fitness.

Although match fitness is important it will be interesting to see how the two strike partnerships fair against Stockport. So far it has been the Chris O’Grady and Elvis Hammond partnership that has looked the most potent with 3 goals in two games. This will surprise most fans as both Hammond and O’Grady have struggled in the past to score and so signs of them linking up together is encouraging.

The tried and trusted Hume and Fryatt partnership, which most Leicester fans will consider to be the main partnership (due to performances between the two at the end of last season) has struggled to gel so far.

If the Hume/Fryatt partnership struggle to perform again tonight and O’Grady/Hammond put in another good performance it could leave Rob Kelly with an interesting decision to make at the beginning of the season.
