With the news that Mark de Vries, Joe Hamill and Momo Sylla have been left out of the 22 man squad to play Macclesfield Town and Stockport County many City fans will see it as a sign that the three players are on their way out.

Rob Kelly stated in the Leicester Mercury on the 13th July that all three players could still make their way into the squad if they worked hard and showed the right attitude.

However, under a week later and they have been left out of the squad to go on the mini tour. This shows fans that either Kelly doesn’t believe they are trying hard enough or they are simply not in his plans.

Although all three players do seem to regularly receive stick from certain sections of the Leicester crowd, even the most pessimistic fan would admit that on their day each player is more the capable of breaking into the squad, if not the starting eleven.

The only good thing that may come out of the three players being left behind is that it may be the wake up call that they need to start showing a bit more determination and effort into getting into the squad.

The bad news is that Hamill and Sylla seem unable to produce any kind of consistant form over 90 minutes never mind over a couple of games. To add to this, although Mark de Vries isn’t the most gifted attacker, he does have some plus points and if he was to leave it would mean Leicester would only have Elvis Hammond and Chris O’Grady as back up for Hume and Fryatt.

The ugly side of the situation is that the majority of fans will be hoping that all three players don’t improve, as they would rather see them walking out of Leicester then walking onto the pitch.
