Southampton have signed winger Dany N’Guessan on loan until the end of the season.

N’Guessan has struggled to make an impact under Sven-Goran Eriksson, making only one appearance for the Foxes since the Swede’s arrival.

The winger joined Scunthorpe on a month-long loan deal in November, scoring on his debut in a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Cardiff.

The 23-year-old joined Leicester from League Two side Lincoln City in the summer of 2009, and found the net six times in a Foxes shirt last season.

But with the club’s recent Thai owners moving in at the helm, N’Guessan’s future prospects look bleak as City look to greater heights in their bid for promotion.

Southampton themselves harbour significant promotion hopes of their, and N’Guessan’s arrival will provide a timely boost for Nigel Adkins’ ambitious side.
