Real Deal?

Tonight Leicester will face Real Sociedad at the Walkers stadium (Kick off 19:45). It will be the first chance for those fans that don’t travel to away matches to see the new signings and how the team are playing.

Although City have a friendly arranged tomorrow with Hinckley Town, the chances are that whoever plays in tonight’s game will start against Luton next weekend. This is the last opportunity for Kelly to put out his strongest line up before the start of the season and he will want to see the team play against arguably Leicester’s toughest opponents to date.

Although Real Sociedad were seen by the club board as a glamorous tie, the sale of tickets has been poor and has resulted in the east stand being closed for the game. Real Sociedad struggled to stay in La Liga last season and don’t seem to have any players that would be known to the English football fan.

In past years Leicester fans have been treated to the likes of Barcelona and Inter Milan at the Walkers, which attracted respectable attendances. With Real Sociedad the club seemed to have scored an own goal as it has not attracted the amount of fans expected

Although it should turn out to be a good test for the team, it is a shame that the stadium wasn’t full as it may have given the players an extra incentive to see how much the club means to the fans.
