QPR Report

Leicester managed to pick up another point on Saturday against QPR and extend their unbeaten run to 7 league games.

It only took Leicester 7 minutes to take the lead at Loftus Road. Danny Tiatto whipped in a free kick and Patrick Kisnorbo was the first man to reach it in the box, his powerful header left the QPR goalkeeper no chance and gave him his 4th goal of the season.

It looked as if Leicester would hold onto the win but in the 67th minute Gareth McAuley handled the ball on the goal line to give QPR a penalty. Looking at the replay it was clear that it was a penalty and the referee could do nothing else but send McAuley off.

Martin Rowlands who had already hit the post in the game, stepped up to slot the ball past Conrad Logan and bring the game level. The game eventually finished 1-1 and both teams were probably happy with a point.

The result means that Leicester have gone 7 league games unbeaten. Add to this the impressive display against Aston Villa and it seems that the players have done enough to get the fans off their backs after the poor start to the season.

The fans may have eased off the team it will only take a poor performance tomorrow against Stoke to see them Leicester team straight back under pressure. Although they have gone 7 games unbeaten, they have only won 2 of these games which means Leicester are still struggling to pull away from the bottom half of the table.

Stoke had an impressive 5-0 win against Norwich on Saturday and are full of confidence coming into the game against Leicester. Rob Kelly and the players will need to make sure that they show the same kind of passion and desire they have shown over the last 8 games; otherwise they might receive a nasty surprise from Stoke and the Leicester fans.
