After the announcement of Geoff Horsfield signing on loan for Leicester, the City fans might be forgiven for reacting slightly differently to the loan signing of Mark Yeates from Tottenham.
Although the fans were happy to see another loan signing, they might have been slightly confused as to who Yeates actually was. After several football database website were searched the fans would have been more the pleased to see the Irish under 21 international joining City until the end of the season.
Yeates joined Spurs in 2002 as a 17 year old trainee and since joining the club has been loaned out to several lower league clubs including Brighton, Swindon, Colchester and Hull.
The club where he made the most impact was at Colchester United during their 2005/06 promotion season. He made 52 appearances for the club, scoring 6 goals.
City fans will be hoping that Yeates can show some kind of form out on the wing for Leicester, where other players such as Josh Low, Momo Sylla and Andy Welsh have failed to impress.
