Leicester have been linked with a move for wantaway Backburn striker Jason Roberts, according to The Mirror.

Roberts was told he was not a part of first team plans at Ewood Park by manager Sam Allardyce, and is in search of a new club.

As a result the former Wigan man has not featured for Rovers so far this campaign, falling behind Nikola Kalinic and Mame Biram Diouf in the striking pecking order.

Roberts finished as Blackburn’s top-scoring striker with five goals last season, evidence if there ever was any of Allardyce’s striking crisis at the club.

And reports today suggest that Leicester manager Sven-Goran Eriksson could make a loan move for the 32-year-old, with a view to a £500,000 bid in January.
