Leicester are back in action in the Championship following their heroic efforts midweek against Chelsea in the League Cup.

The atmosphere at Layer Road will be a far cry from Stamford Bridge where 6000 traveling supporters almost saw their side pull off a huge cup upset.

City fans will be hoping that Leicester can take the performance into this league feature in front of the Sky TV cameras.

City have yet to find a full time replacement for Gary Megson, and City will be led for the third time by caretaker Frank Burrows and assistant Gerry Taggart.

City go into the game after last week recording only their 3rd league win over Barnsley with an injury crisis in midfield.

Burrows may opt to field a different formation than 3-5-2 such as the 4-4-2 that ended the Chelsea match as he looks to field a side with 5 senior midfielders unavailable.

Vital Quotes:

Injured City captain Stephen Clemence has fond memories over his last visit to Layer Road, which kick-started Birmingham’s successful promotion campaign.

‘A result on Saturday could be the start of a run for us. I came down here last season with Birmingham and there was a lot of publicity surrounding Colchester and how they had done at home,’ he said.

‘We knew that it was going to be a tough game and although Colchester shaded the first half, we got an equaliser I thought we deserved.

Colchester United Team News:

Veteran striker Teddy Sheringham begins a three match suspension and is unavailable.

Keeper Aidan Davison is doubtful but Jamie Guy and Bela Balogh are fit after recovering from injury.

Player to watch: Mark Yeates

Yeates, who had a loan spell with City has scored an impressive 7 times this season.

5 of those are from free kicks so Leicester will have to be disciplined when defending.

Leicester City Team News:

Where to start!

City have a midfield crisis, Clemence, Wesolowski, Hume are all out after missing the Chelsea game. Levi Porter who came on as sub in that game played brilliantly before picked up an injury which could see him on the sidelines until the new year.

Kishishev is still at Leeds and this leaves us with no central midfielders.

Collins John cup-tied against Chelsea will be competing with Campbell, Fryatt and Cort for a place in the City attack.

Player to watch: Alan Sheehan

Alan Sheehan may just be our answer to Mark Yeates.

Sheehan has contributed massively with his set-pieces this season, ask top scorer Patrick Kisnorbo.

Match Facts & Stats

Last time out in front of the Sky cameras was a 0-0 draw with Scunthorpe.

Match Prediction:

Hopefully we can build on the Chelsea performance, not every team has a Frank Lampard and if we play with a positive attitude we should be rewarded.

2-1 City

Collins John seems to be enjoying his time at Leicester. Watched the game and you deserved at least a point.
