Gone now and leaves us a bit short of full backs.

Apparently he had a release clause in his contract so there may have been little the City management could have done about it.

He’s never had a regular first team place and probably seems himself more likely to get one at Doncaster than City, even though they’re in the Championship.

For me a little work on Chambers’ passing and he would have been an excellent right back.

Whatever, we’ll need some cover. O’Neill and Cox are promising youngsters who can both play right-back, O’Neill being particularly impressive in the friendly against Quorn.

But whether they could step up to first team level this season is another matter.

I’d not heard of a release clause, but you could be right. We’ll miss him, but I think we can cope.
