Sven-Goran Eriksson looks to have finally won his battle to re-sign Curtis Davies on loan.

The Aston Villa centre-back spent just over two months at the Walkers Stadium until January, but was looking for a move to a Premier League club in the transfer window.

Rumoured interest from Stoke failed to materialise, and a loan move to Celtic collapsed after a FIFA ruling was imposed which states a player cannot make a cross-border move and play for a third club in a single season.

The player himself confirmed the move via his Twitter page earlier, saying: ‘En route to Leicester to re-join Sven’s revolution!’

Davies re-joins the Foxes with a wealth of competition at the back, following the captures of Sol Bamba and Ben Mee since his departure from the Walkers.

Despite a handful of under-par showings towards the end of his first spell, the move no doubt represents another strong capture for Eriksson, who is trying desperately hard to shore up his defence as the Foxes attempt to mount a play-off bid.
