Injury hit Leicester play their 3rd away match in a row against Preston tonight. Caretaker manager Frank Burrows will be hoping City’s good form will continue into the match against a Preston side who will disappointed by their start to the season.

The match will be City’s 4th game in 11 days, and it may be caretaker manager Frank Burrow’s last chance to impress chairman Milan Mandaric before he is expected to unveil his new manager before the weekend’s game with Burnley.

Indeed all eyes will be on stands as well as pitch as the City faithful will be eager to look for clues as to the likely longterm successor to Gary Megson.

Preston have made a poor start by their standards to their league campaign after being in and around the playoffs in recent years. Preston’s home form is strong however with only 1 defeat in 7 games.

City will look to continue the good form they have found under Burrows with the strike force starting to score goals. On loan Collins John has contributed well with 2 goals from the last 2.

It’s difficult when you have got the numbers of injuries that we have at the moment. We have basically lost our entire midfield, but I am not going to moan or make excuses. That’s life. At the end of the day the people who come into the team have got an opportunity to do something. They have got to use their strengths to the full to help the team to get the results that they need.

‘Deepdale is a tough place to go. It’s going to be a test of character – just as Colchester was on Saturday.

‘There are two ways to approach this game. You can go up there thinking the worst or you can roll your sleeves up and come out fighting. That’s what we expect the lads to do.

‘It is not going to be easy by any stretch of the imagination, but is any game ever easy?

Whether that will be enough for Burrows to continue I don’t know, Milan seems keen to look elsewhere.
