Sol Bamba has admitted he is very flattered to be linked with moves to a number of Premiership clubs, but his focus remains on winning promotion for Leicester next season.

The Ivorian defender apparently has suitors at Everton, Villa and Birmingham but speaking to African football website Afrik-Foot, he said he was ignoring the speculation and was concentrating on his recovery from a hamstring injury, although such links were obviously flattering.

‘I have a contract with Leicester and I feel good. It would be a lie to say it’s not flattering but I do not pay too much attention to all these rumours.’

Speaking about our season, Bamba intimates it was unfortunate that we didn’t have Sven in charge from the beginning, as he agrees with Gallagher, that too many points were wasted at the beginning of the season and we should’ve finished higher.

‘It’s a big disappointment, we had the strength to play at least in the play offs but the coach did not have the group since the beginning of the season. We can achieve something next season, we must clearly target automatic promotion.’

I wouldn’t imagine Sven would entertain selling him unless it was for silly money if these rumours are true. We’ll be looking to strengthen in the summer, and whilst you’d expect some players to leave, I really don’t imagine Bamba would be one of them.
