A sixth successive win, this time by 4-0 over Norwich City U18’s today, left Leicester City firm favourites to finish runners-up in the Premier Academy League.

Their remarkable run, which has earned them 19 points from the last seven games has taken City well clear of nearest rivals Coventry.

With four games to go Aston Villa remain top and likely champions.

This morning’s success at Belvoir Drive was started by specialist goal poacher Ashley Chambers after 25 minutes, acccording to the OS.

Chambers might have had a hat-trick but for excellent saves by the visiting goalkeeper as City dominated the second half.

Kraig Rochester, who replaced Chambers, doubled City’s lead from a pass by Eric Odhiambo the latter having brought a brilliant save from the Norwich keeper after a Max Gradel feed.

Another substitute, Billy McKay headed home a Joe Mattock cross for number three with midfielder Tommy Tejan-Sie making it four almost on time.

Goalkeeper Alex Cisak deserved credit too for one or two excellent saves as City collected their sixth clean sheet in those seven starts mentioned.
