Young defenders Michael Morrison and Tom Parkes have both signed contracts with Leicester City. Morrison has penned an extension to his current contract, now taking the 21-year-old’s commitment to the club up to 2012. Parkes is the current captain of the successful Under 18 side and has signed his first professional contract with the club.

Morrison arrived from Cambridge United last summer and was manager Nigel Pearson’s first signing at the Walkers Stadium. After making forty appearances in his first campaign, Morrison has recently regained a place in the team at right-back and the team has only conceded once in the last two games since he replaced Robbie Neilson.

Parkes’ Under 18 side have won all seven of their league games so far in the Academy setup including impressive away wins at Liverpool and Aston Villa, sandwiching a 4-2 success over last season’s Academy double winners Arsenal.

City are without a first-team game this weekend due to internationals but the Under 18 side take on Tottenham Hotspur at Belvoir Drive at 11am on Saturday, hoping to keep that 100% run going.
