Leicester City owner Milan Mandaric has once again made the cut for the fourfourtwo.com rich list 2009/10.

Mandaric has as estimated value of around £55m, some £20m short of last year’s estimations. This year’s figures see the Serbian in at number 55 on this year’s rich list, a drop in three places from last time around.

The City chairman bought the club for around £25m in 2007, just months after making a substantial profit believed to be in the region of around £27m from the sale of Portsmouth. Mandaric sold half his shares to Aleksandre Gaydamak in January 2006, before selling the remaining 50% soon afterwards.

Surprisingly for some it is not the financial heavyweights at Eastlands, but Queens Park Rangers’ Lakshmi Mittal sitting at number one in the list, worth an estimated £18.4bn. Mittal has made his fortune predominantly as the world’s largest steel manufacturer, and could soon be increasing his current 20% stake in the club with the potential departure of disgraced Formula One tycoon Flavio Briatore.

Manchester City’s Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan comes in at number two with an estimated fortune of around £17bn, with Chelsea’s Roman Abramovic (£7.8bn) completing the top three.

Why is it surprising that Mittal is number one? The man is money, shame we (QPR) or myself don’t see much of it 😉

I was thinking a lot of people may have thought Sheikh Mansour would be top of the list!
