Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has swooped to capture his fourth signing of the summer by securing the services of Bristol City goalkeeper Chris Weale.

Weale joined Bristol City in 2006, but appearances were limited for the goalkeeper as a result of a string of injuries which saw him struggle to dislodge first choice Adriano Basso.

Last year he was sent out on loan to Yeovil Town, where incredibly he scored a late equaliser against Hereford United to help the Glovers avoid relegation from League One.

Pearson: ‘Chris is a player who we have monitored and has been on our wish list for quite a while now. He has had limited opportunities at Bristol City and following a successful loan period at Yeovil Town we are delighted to secure his services.’

Weale becomes Pearson’s fourth signing of the summer, following Jack Hobbs, Wayne Brown and Robbie Neilson to the Walkers Stadium.
