Nigel Pearson has wasted no time in replacing recently recalled goalkeeper Mark Bunn, calling on Fulham’s 23 year old David Stockdale.

Blackburn earlier activated a 24-hour recall clause to bring back Mark Bunn from his loan spell with the Foxes, leaving Pearson with a slight goalkeeping crisis with first choice goalkeeper David Martin still sidelined.

Stockdale arrives at Leicester from the Cottagers after a very successful season with Darlington last year which earned him a move to the Premiership side.

A relieved Pearson told the official site: ‘We are very grateful to Roy Hodgson and Mike Kelly who have allowed us to take David on loan at very short notice.’

Stockdale is expected to jump straight into the first team for tomorrow night’s clash with Stockport County at the Walkers Stadium.
