It could be that Leicester City have given their biggest hint yet that they intend to invite Rob Kelly to be their long term manager.

Following news that the club would have backed Kelly to make loan signings before Thursday’s deadline there is the new season ticket campaign.

It may be a flawed marketing concept but the ‘We’re In It Together’ slogan is close to Rob Kelly remark used successfully by him to encourage the idea of players, coaches and supporters all working together to pull Leicester out of the relegation mire.

That suggests the club are prepared to base a major part of their marketing strategy around Kelly’s ideas which would probably not be the case if they intended appointing any other manager.

There may be a further hint in the email sent by Leicester City Chief Executive Tim Davies

In response to a question about when the club would be offering Kelly a long term contract bearing in mind that he may yet become a target for others.

Mr Davies replied: ‘All I can say is that Rob and his team and the players are doing a great job.

‘Rob and my first aim is to avoid relegation and neither of us wishes to be distracted from this task.’

Apart from the undisguised praise, is the suggestion there that it is Rob as much as anyone who does not yet wish to discuss the future and that once relegation is mathematically impossible consideration will immediately be given to a new deal?.
