Manager Nigel Pearson has said that Leicester will have to get our own performance right if we are to progress in the Cup against Fulham tomorrow evening.

Should Leicester find victory on the night we’ll book ourselves a place in the Capital One Cup Quarter Finals, but Martin Jol’s Fulham will not be an easy game and having lose their last league game against Southampton last weekend, they’ll be looking at Tuesday night as a way of getting back on track themselves so we’ll certainly have to bring our best game to them.

Thankfully, apart from Ritchie De Laet, Nigel Pearson has a full compliment to choose from, although a couple are carrying bumps and bruises from the weekend, but are considered fit.

Speaking to lcfc.com ahead of the game, the gaffer explained.

‘We’ve got no real problems, but there are one or two knocks and we’ll have a look at the players in training to see how they are.’

With that said, Pearson confirms that ahead of the Bournemouth game the management staff had already made the decision to make some changes for the Fulham game as there are a few players who could do with a proper run out again now, and given the strength we have in the squad he doesn’t feel it will weaken us in the slightest.

Despite Fulham not really setting the Premiership alight this season, Pearson said we can’t read much into that because they certainly have quality in their side so even slightly off form, Fulham will be a very good test for our players.

Of course with the magic of the Cup almost anything can happen over the course of 90 minutes and Pearson knows that’s why managers, players and fans love the Cup competitions.

‘I’m just thinking about picking a side to go out and get the performance right. If we get the performance right then we’ll have a good chance of winning the game.’

For the gaffer, like most games, he knows the key will really be playing our own game, imposing our own style, and not letting them get too much of a foothold in the game and making us play the match on their terms. If we can upset them in that manner, he knows we have the quality ourselves to take the victory.
