Leicester manager Nigel Pearson has made tentative enquiries for Preston midfielder Darren Carter, according to one forum.

Carter has found himself on the fringes of the Preston first team, making 22 appearances overall last season for the Lilywhites.

The player joined Preston from West Brom in 2007 for £1.5m, but has since failed to live up to the price tag, and ultimately, expectations.

Leicester manager Pearson would know Carter well from his time at West Brom, and has allegedly made enquiries for the player.

However, a stumbling block could be the player’s wages, rumoured to be substantially high after his move from West Brom.
