Lincoln are pushing for £400,000 for young French midfielder Dany N’Guessan, according to the Leicester Mercury.

It is thought that the Foxes are close to signing the 23-year-old from the Imps, but first the two clubs are attempting to agree a transfer fee for the player.

If no agreement is made then the dispute will be taken to a tribunal, as N’Guessan falls under the age bracket of 23 and under.

Imps chairman Steve Wright is thought to be driving a hard bargain for his midfield starlet, and has already been quoted as wanting a similar compensation package to the one that saw current City player Jack Hobbs join Liverpool.

‘We are in negotiations with Leicester City regarding a compensation package for Dany. The Leicester chief executive is away at the moment, but myself and Dave Roberts (Lincoln’s chief executive) will be attending the Football League’s annual meeting in Portugal next week. A lot of business gets done out there, as we’re all in the same place.
