Skipper Wes Morgan has said he feels you can visibly see an improvement in Leicester’s fitness levels following the first few days out in Austria.

Having begun training in Velden two days ago, Morgan explained that Wednesday’s morning was occupied by a bike ride and a recovery session, but he felt there was a very nice competitive edge to the more intensive work the squad are doing.

Speaking to lcfc.com for today’s interview with club staff, Morgan explained.

‘We`re still acclimatising to it so it`s been very, very tough, but that`s to be expected. It`s our second session of the day so hopefully they`ll take it a little easier on us, but it`s tough. Next week we go to Hong Kong and we`ve got games out there, so it`s getting competitive now, but it`s enjoyable at the same time.’

He went on to say.

‘We`re starting to adjust to it now. It`s very hot and I think with the constant football and training, our bodies will still be adapting to it. We`ve been doing very well. We trained all last week and we`ve come into this week now, so you can see the improvements that we`ve made.’

Talking about Tuesday’s sessions and the competitive edge he felt had come through in our training, he felt the balance had been right in terms of ball based fitness work as well.

‘The balls are out a lot this week and we`re starting to get a good feel of it. The competitive element is starting to come back into it, which is good.’
