Midfielder Andy King has said the Leicester City first team are getting their heads down in our pre season training camp out in Austria as there’s a real determination to improve on last season.

Going into Craig Shakespeare’s first full season in charge, our long standing Welshman said that the group were determined to be in the best possible shape they could be from pre season to kick off the Premier League campaign of 2017/18 on a high.

With last season being a mix, high’s of Champions League and largely low’s of the Premier League until we secured our survival rather comfortably in the end, King is looking for a much better campaign all round.

Speaking to King explained that the players had settled quickly and whilst it was tough, players were enjoying it and they more than knew it was simply part of the process.

‘It was good to get out here. We come out to Austria most years but it`s a different training base this season. We`re enjoying it. It`s hot weather so it`s hard work but that`s what we need at this stage of the season. We know Hong Kong`s going to be humid. We`ve got a couple of games out there and hopefully it`ll make it that bit easier when we get back home. The first few days were tough running but we`ve been able to get on the balls early. Hopefully we can be sharp with the balls as well as making sure we improve our fitness.’

With foundations built for previously successful seasons out in Austria, our longest serving player went on to say that there’s no reason that we can’t have success again but of course we need to put the hard work in and take full advantage of what Austria offers us at this stage of our season.

‘It`s a lovely place, the training facilities are really good, the hotel is nice. Everything is good for us to prepare well for the season, get our heads down and concentrate. That`s what you need at this stage of the season. I`ve missed the last few years with Wales and various stuff so it`s nice to be back and give yourself a long pre-season because if you miss anything at the start you can be playing catch-up throughout the year.’
