Match Officials – Leicester v Newcastle

|

Leicester City face Newcastle United in our next Premier League fixture and we now know who is in charge.

The game on Saturday April 7 at 3pm at the King Power Stadium sees Stuart Attwell take charge as referee.

The assistant referee roles go to Stuart Burt and Adrian Holmes, with the fourth official named as Lee Mason.

Match Day referee Attwell has officiated 26 games in 2017/18, showing 89 yellow cards and three red cards.

He took in 27 games in 2016/17 with a return of 90 yellow cards and eight red cards.

That season his highest card count was five yellows and three reds in the game between Brighton and Sheffield Wednesday. He showed seven yellows and two reds in the Oxford v Swindon Town game. He also showed seven yellows in the game between Southampton and Middlesbrough.

He took in 44 matches in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he handed out a total of 118 yellow cards and four red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Plymouth and Crawley on October 3 with a total of six yellows being shown.

With eight yellows and two reds shown in his last game in charge let’s hope he’s got rid of those urges, as Attwell hasn’t been bad for us this year as he oversaw victory against Liverpool much earlier in the season in the EFL Cup.
