On-loan Leicester goalkeeper David Martin has declared his interest to signing a permanent deal with the Foxes.

Martin, 23, was signed by manager Nigel Pearson in the summer from Liverpool on a one year loan deal.

Martin told BBC Radio Leicester: ‘I’d love to stay at Leicester, it’s a great club – when we get promoted if I could play in the Championship it would be good.’

The ‘when’ seems far too premature, but the player has kept clean sheets in half of his 26 appearances for the Foxes as they currently sit 10 points clear at the top of League One.
