A new club record of 3,079 supporters seen Leicester City beat home team Hinckley United 3 goals to 1. Leicester got the goals through transfer listed striker, Mark De Vries, Iain Hume and James Wesolowski effort. An Alan Sheehan own goal from a corner was only just mere consolation for the home team.

In the first half, Leicester played a team which was near strong to what it will be in the league next season, Hossein Kaebi and Patrick Kisnorbo still missing whilst on Asian Cup duty, but Martin Allen gave starts to Jon Hayes and Alan Sheehan. Mark De Vries took the lead for Leicester after a pass from Hayes created the goal. Poor communication for Leicester led to the own goal, which was a worry. Iain Hume eased Leicester’s worries by scoring a superb goal by rounding off Hinckley ‘keeper, Sean Bowles. Hume will be looking to add to his pre season goal tally in matches vs Mansfield (Friday, Away) and Notts County (Saturday, Home)

Both sides made a few changes in the second half, which seen Elvis Hammond’s excellent volley only to be saved by substitue goalkeeper, Dave Clarke. Allen also gave Stephen Clemence his first appearance in a Leicester shirt, applauded by fans all round, was also very impressive. A brilliant goal from Austrailian, James Wesolowski, looked to seal the game. Leicester manager, Martin Allen, put youth players on late in the game.

A good game for both teams and supporters all round.
