It might be plainly obvious and clearly something that we all want, but Steve Howard has said that we don’t plan to hang around in League One for very long, and he is looking for Leicester to bounce straight back to the Championship.

The striker knows that it’s going to be far from straight forward but says ‘we’ll grind, we’ll kick, we’ll sweat and we’ll get out of this league’ so City can get back to where they belong. Howard, 32, also said that the players have taken to the new gaffer, Nigel Pearson, extremely well and the squad will respond to the ground rules laid down by him.

Elsewhere, Louis Dodds, who left City for Port Vale on Monday, has said that it was an easy decision to make as far as moving was concerned. It didn’t take the striker, now 21, much time to decide Vale Park was the place for him and he is now looking to help them into League One, which by the time he gets there we will hopefully be out of it again!
