Managerless Leicester are still continuing their search for a man to take over the reins at the Walkers Stadium from Ian Holloway after his unsuccessful spell that saw Leicester relegated.
It has been well over two weeks since Ian Holloway left Leicester by mutual consent and Milan Mandaric is still searching for what will be his 7th manager within 2 years.
Many names have been thrown around, Leicester had approached MK Dons over the possibility of ex-England international Paul Ince taking over at the Walkers but being turned down aswell as an approach for ex-Leicester skipper Simon ‘Larry’ Grayson, currently at Blackpool being turned down.
Milan Mandaric had said to Sky Sports News that there had been 20 applicants, for which he would make a shortlist of 4 or 5.
But more recently Mandaric, yet again speaking to Sky Sports News said that his shortlist is down to 2, well-established English manager. Names that have been flying around include John Gregory, Ex-England manager Steve Mclaren and Sam Allardyce. Billy Davies and Simon Grayson are still being mentioned but Gregory who was assistant under Brian Little at Leicester during the 90’s is being backed heavily.

Mandaric also stated that he wants to appoint a new manager by the middle of June so expect a manager within the next few days.
Also, in and out the continual revolving doors at the Walkers stadium include a change in Chief Executive. Paul Aldridge has stepped aside for Lee Hoos. Hoos has a good track record and has previously spent 8 years at Fulham and 3 at Southampton.
On the player front, ‘rumours’ include that Leicester have made a cheeky bid for Birmingham forward Cameron Jerome according to News of The World aswell as for experienced Derby centre-half Darren Moore according to a Derbyshire newspaper. How any of these ‘rumours’ can be possible is beyond me as we currently have no manager to sign them.

Our managerial situation is an embarrassment. It all goes back to the Rob Kelly appointment really. That was a bad one, Martin Allen was, apparently unsuitable and as each of those left so our credibility progressively plunged.
If Mandaric was objective enough to oversee his own performance he’d have sacked himself. No question. Who does he even give a second chance never mind extended licence?
We’ve been reduced to scraping the managerial barrel and all because, basically, we didn’t get our decision right in the first place, or second, or third, or fourth.
A few have understandably pleaded for continuity but it is hard to justify continuity without credibility and without proper leadership from the chairman in demanding we take the right way forward which is must be noticeably different from the route we’ve travelled for so many years.
It sounds melodramatic but I’m becoming increasingly fearful for the future of our club. If you continue inflicting self-harm sooner or later the damage will be fatal.
First Mandaric needs a genuine plan of action. Then he needs someone willing and able to effect that plan. Seems to me he’s fallen short on both counts and I’ll be amazed now if our managerial choice is anyone inspiring.
The plan of action is vital. It’s alright Mandaric trumpeting what he wants like some ageless elephant herd leader but I’ve seen no signs that he has an idea how go go about getting it. Until he does how would he know who best to appoint?
When are your players due to return for pre season training?
You need to get a manager in soon as most of the better players are being snapped up by other clubs.
