Kelly quietly tops the bill

What an opportunity of a lifetime Rob Kelly now has to establish himself in big-time football management.

If he succeeds his might be the quietest steps ever taken into the big stage limelight.

Kelly of the ‘I’m a coach’, ‘this isn’t about me’ and ‘I’ll shall wake up tomorrow and see what happens,’ quotes, is the man in possession of the job no-one seems to really want at Leicester.

Oh yes, you can bet that lots will want it if he saves the club from relegation. But no-one seems to fancy it in Kelly’s situation thanks very much. Too much of a risk.

Well Kelly has accepted the risks – he hadn’t really got a managerial reputation to lose being ‘a coach’ – and clearly the players have responded.

So much so that striker Matty Fryatt has already come forward to say he should continue.

And that is what will surely happen if Kelly wins at Brighton tomorrow unless City have a Board that would be foolhardy enough to change the situation with a man who had fashioned three successive victories.

What a wonderful incentive for the man, whether he really wants to be a manager or not!.
