Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has confirmed that Max Gradel will be returning to the Walkers after his loan spell ends at Leeds United.

Leeds boss Simon Grayson had hoped to tie up Gradel on a permanent deal after the 21-year-old impressed in his short loan deal, but Pearson has said he is not for sale.

Pearson said: ‘I’ve made the decision. It’s no different to what I said weeks ago. His loan’s up and he’s coming back.’

Gradel has struggled to hold down a first team place since last season, but his impact for Leeds in League One this year has certainly given Pearson food for thought.

The Ivorian has found the net three times for Grayson’s side this season, predominantly coming off of the bench as an impact player.

His loan spell ends after this weekend.
You can have him back if you want money for him. I would keep him on loan until the end of the season. I can understand why he wasn’t getting games for Leicester, I don’t think he’s anything more than an impact player off the bench and not sure he would make the step up to the Championship which is why he came to us in the first place.

We at Leeds wish him all the best. His impacts off the bench have been great although hes not produced the same form when starting. The game needs characters and Max is certainly one of those.

I think impact player sums him up in a nutshell. I’m really hoping he can come back to us and replicate what he did at Leeds. We’ve all seen what he can, it’s just frustrating that he can’t seem to do it on a regular basis from the start. He’s still well-liked here though, here’s hoping he can pull it off for us.

We’d have him back on loan for the rest of the season, with a view to buy after that
