Anyone debating whether they should join Leicester City in future need only contact new centre-forward Matty Fryatt for the answer.

Speaking on Icons.com Fryatt said: ‘I haven’t enjoyed myself on the pitch like this for a long time and I think it’s helped that the fans have taken to me and my team-mates have appreciated what I’m doing on the pitch.’

The former Walsall top scorer has been something of a talisman for Leicester because his arrival together with other factors coincided with an uplift in fortunes for the club.

He may lament having not scored for three matches now but the three he has scored in matches so far have helped directly towards two victories and we have won three of the games he has played in as well as drawing twice.

Those 11 points have helped lift City out of the relegation places and Fryatt has no doubts for the future…

‘You can bet on us staying up,’ he said, and of his scoring situation he said ‘it’s only when it gets to six games I’ll start to worry.’
