Leicester City manager Paulo Sousa is ready to make his second signing of the summer with the capture of Slovenian Under-21 striker Leon Crncic.

The 20-year-old impressed during a trial period with the Foxes whilst in Slovenia, and Sousa is now ready to offer the youngster a one-year deal with the club.

Crncic featured in a match against his former club NK Aluminij last week, finding the net in the process to catch the eye of the City coaching staff.

The young forward spent last season on loan with Italian Serie B side Atalanta, and particularly impressed onlooking coach Chris Powell during last week’s trip.

‘He looked good in training and scored a goal in the second friendly.

‘He is quite an interesting player. He did particularly well,’ Powell said.

Sousa has made one signing to date so far, capturing Benfica centre back Miguel Vitor on loan for the season.

With Yann Kermorgant ready to depart the new Leicester manager is keen to bolster his forward line, and is prepared to take a gamble on Crncic for next season.
