Leicester have completed the loan signing of Ipswich’s Alex Bruce until the end of the season.

The centre back becomes Nigel Pearson’s second signing of the January transfer window following the capture of Nobby Solano on a free transfer last week.

Bruce has made 115 appearances for Ipswich in his three years with the club, but injury in September has seen him surrender his first team place to the current in-form centre back pairing of Gareth McAuley and Damien Delaney.

The 25-year-old struggled to find his feet in the footballing world until the switch to Portman Road back in 2006, and has never looked back since.

Prior to injury the defender was handed the Ipswich captaincy for a short while, and still remains well rated by the Ipswich faithful.
