Familiar Face

Those brave Leicester fans who make the long journey along the A47 for the game tonight might notice a familiar face in the yellow of Norwich.

Dion Dublin has found himself playing for the Canaries after joining them in late September on a free transfer. Since that move he has move 10 appearances for Norwich and has offered some vital experience for some of the younger Norwich Players.

When Dion Dublin joined Leicester at the beginning of the 2004/05 campaign it was supposed to be the return of the prodigal son. After scoring goals at Manchester United, Coventry and Aston Villa, Dublin was coming back to his home town to guide Leicester back to the Premiership.

However, it never really turned out to be the dream move Dublin or the Leicester fans may have expected. Although Dublin was fully committed to the cause he seemed to lack the pace needed to play at the back and didn`t offer anything when up front. .

After rumours of a running feud with Craig Levein and the team struggling in the league Dublin parted company with Leicester at the end of January 2006 to join up with Gordon Strachan at Celtic.

Dublin played 58 games for Leicester scoring 5 goals in his one and a half season at the club. Although Dublin never really turned out to be the player Leicester fans were hoping for, it was clear that he always gave 100% and hopefully the Leicester fans will show their appreciation for the ex-city player.
