City vs Luton Report

Leicester fans are still waiting to see their side win this year after they failed to take advantage of an early goal against Luton.

Mark Yeates on loan from Spurs put Leicester ahead after 6 minutes to give City fans hope. Andy Johnson played a defence splitting pass to send Ian Hume through with only the keeper to beat. However, Hume failed to beat the Luton keeper but luckily the rebound fell to Yeates who simply tapped the ball into the empty net.

The goal came against the run of play and it was only down to the poor finishing from Luton that City weren`t already behind. Luton continued to create chances after the City goal and it seemed only a matter of time before Luton equalised. It took until the 33rd minute before Luton could get themselves back on level terms and get the goal, which they probably deserved.

Dean Morgan was the man who scored the equaliser; he rose unchallenged to head the ball past Henderson, from a Luton free kick on the edge of the area.

In the second half Leicester started to dominate the game, but apart from a fierce shot from Horsfield there were relatively few chances. Leicester did put some pressure on the Luton goal with 5 minutes to go but failed to create any clear-cut chances. The game eventually finished 1-1 and was probably a fair reflection of the game.

City now find themselves only 3 points above the relegation zone and the next two game are both away against Ipswich and Burnley, where City always struggle to pick up points.

To be fair it seems that long ago that it could have been last season 😀

Kisnorbo played very well. I don’t think he’ll be in the Championship for much longer.
