City chase Dickov?

According to BBC Radio Leicester, City are trying to re-sign 35-year old striker Paul Dickov.

The former City legend who was our top scorer during the season that we were promoted under Micky Adams is also supposedly being linked with Blackpool and FC Toronto.

The Scot left the foxes bitterly for Blackburn in the summer of 2004 and scored the winner from the penalty spot against us in the following year in an FA Cup quarter-final clash at Ewood Park.

The busy striker even scored the winner against us whilst on loan at Blackpool last season, late on in the game, to stick a dagger in the hearts, yet again of the travelling City faithful that made the trip to Bloomfield Road.

What are your thoughts if we are to sign Dickov again?

I wouldn’t want him back to tell the truth, what about you FatherTed, and everyone else?

  • FatherTed says:

I reckon that he could be just what we need.

hated the way he left, although it may have been his wifes decision.
having said that, i would still love to see him back. The infectious attitude could rub off on the younger players. and i have him over hume anyday.

We got to get that spirit back and if we can get over David Speedie the way we did, I’m sure we can do it for Dickov….Filbert ??

I guess if he is going to give you a bit of of a bite in L1…then despite the past he would be a good signing….

My thoughts on not wanting him back were not to do with the way he left last time, which left a very sour taste, but becuase I thought he was old and past it! However with a bit of time to ponder it, he could be exactly what we need in League One, he’ll battle away and his fighting spirit, never say die approach is exactly what we need. He did ok with Blackpool last season, and that was in the Championship. So, after reflection I think he would be a really good (re)signing, so make it happen Pearson!
