Carl Cort: Will he be a Cult Hero?

As a footballer`s life, Carl Cort has endured a stressful career. Whether it has been injuries or transfer fee controversy, he has managed to prove his critics wrong and sign for Championship club Leicester City.

The 6 foot 4 striker has excited many Leicester City fans in the summer and the Leicester faithful will demand to see Cort`s potential. Newly appointed manager, Martin Allen and new Chairman, Milan Mandaric are very excited about the capture of Cort and his abilities on the football field.

Cort holds a lot of history behind him, good and bad. Carl is one of many few players to not to play for England whilst making a big money transfer. At aged 29, he is still popular around the footballing world for his career.

When Cort arrived at the Walkers Stadium, many people could see why he arrived, because of Martin Allen`s determination to get the best out of his players. This is highly likely that Cort could become an influential figure in first team plans and for Leicester`s future promotion push.

Many Injuries have restricted Cort to play consecutive games but he still has an impressive goal tally (55 Goals in 195 Appearances) where he scored 31 Goals in 94 Games for Wolves in 2004-2007 era. It is likely Cort will show his experience on the hallowed turf of Leicester City and help strikers such as Iain Hume and Matty Fryatt, who have never had the opportunity to play Premiership football.

Cort has two years to work wonders at Leicester, and there is a debate as to whether he will accomplish what is needed by the fans and staff. But if he does, he will sure be one of Leicester City`s cult heroes.
