Nigel Pearson has said that he is backing the players to perform under the pressure tonight, as everyone wants a positive result from our home leg against Watford.

Speaking to lcfc.com ahead of tonight’s encounter, the gaffer said of the Forest victory to begin with.

‘I think every emotion you could experience, we went through. Performance wise it was very good and we gave ourselves a good chance of winning. The players really did perform well under pressure and that’s credit to them.’

Saying that with the crowd following the Bolton score, that added plenty of extra pressure on to the players to all they could.

As for the Watford encounter and possible promotion, he said.

‘I’m pleased for them, ultimately we all want the same thing. The players should be looking at it as an opportunity for them as individuals and as a group to move forward. It’s been difficult at times but the players have shown courage. Now we’ve given ourselves another chance, we’ve got to make the most of it. It’ll be a tough game.’

Good luck lads.
