Underlying problems?

A goal in the last five minutes from Elvis Hammond, meant that Leicester managed to snatch a point from a game that they looked like getting nothing from.

The entire media spotlight has concentrated on Hammond getting himself on the score sheet and giving Rob Kelly something to think about up front. Whether they have concentrated on Hammond scoring because of the chance to create poor Elvis Presley related headlines or they feel this is the most important story from the match is questionable.

The most important aspect of the game for Leicester City fans should have been the fact that if it wasn`t for Birmingham`s poor finishing and some great saves from Conrad Logan, Leicester could have been dead and buried long before Hammond equalised.

Nicklas Bendtner, Gary McSheffrey and DJ Campbell caused the Leicester defence all sorts of problems and Conrad Logan was lucky to stay on the pitch, when he brought down DJ Campbell outside the area with a late challenge.

Even though Birmingham could have put the game out of Leicester`s reach, Leicester managed to keep the score down to 1-0 and give themselves a chance to get an equaliser.

If Hammond hadn`t scored his goal, the focus from the Leicester fans would have been completely different. Rather then concentrating on scraping a point away from home. They would have concentrated on the more important matter of Leicester again failing to show any kind of form that could give Leicester fans hope.

There is now a break in the fixture list due to internationals lets hope Rob Kelly can use the time to sort out what is wrong with the team and hopefully rectify it come the game at home against Southampton.
