Leicester manager Paulo Sousa insists that the club will be bringing new signings to the club over the next week.

The Foxes have picked up just a point from their opening three matches following Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Burnley, but Sousa has stressed that he will be bolstering his squad shortly.

“It is something which will happen but I can’t tell you how many signings exactly,” he said.

“I have a number of players I would like to add, but then it becomes another process with the transfer dealings and sometimes we can’t afford them.”

Leicester have been linked with a move for former crowd favourite and Aston Villa striker Emile Heskey, but Sousa has distanced himself from the speculation.

“I don’t know anything about that and I don’t speak about it because of the respect I have, especially, for my players.

“I also don’t allow myself to talk about players from other clubs.”

So far the Foxes manager has brought four players of his own to the club, but with new investment installed into the club, can now set about revsersing the club’s early season fortunes.

Meanwhile reports in Japan suggest that City have made an approach for Uwara Reds midfielder Yuki Abe, who featured heavily for Japan at the World Cup this summer.
