Leicester bowed out of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy on Tuesday following a 2-0 defeat at Rotherham, who now advance to the semi final stage.

Barry Hayles could have given Leicester the lead, but following a fine solo run he eventually shot wide and this miss proved the turning point as Rotherham took the lead through Drewe Broughton (45) on the stroke of half time. Just before the hour Dale Tonge (58) added a second to secure the win. The hosts ‘keeper Andy Warrington also saved a Matty Fryatt penalty in injury-time to compound the guests’ misery.
