Sven-Goran Eriksson is reportedly ready to swoop for two out of favour Premiership players.

The link with Emile Heskey is well known, and often repeated, but the Daily Mail also now have Eriksson preparing a bid for out of favour left back Paul Konchesky.

After enduring a torrid time since his arrival at Anfield, the fullback ended up on loan at Play Off failures Nottingham Forest, and with the Liverpool manager looking at a left back as a priority, Konchesky is clearly surplus to requirements.

There are no quotes, or any real substance to this rumour but it’s the first I’ve seen of it and whilst it might be easy journalism to link us with out of favour Premiership players, Konchesky could be somebody who’s right up Sven’s street as he prepares the squad for next season.
