Having agreed an initial six-month contract with Leicester last week veteran defender Chris Powell is already thinking beyond this, and has no intention of retiring anytime soon.

The former England international, now 38, was signed by Nigel Pearson after a successful trial and now the left-back aims to convince the City gaffer that he is worth keeping beyond the current arrangement.

Powell hopes that he can prove he is worth keeping longer and aims to play his part in getting us promoted back to the Championship, and isn’t writing off being a part of that should it happen!
