Nigel Pearson has said the squad have given him the perfect headache ahead of the new season with their performances in our warm up games.

Speaking to lcfc.com following Tom Parkes winner against Sunderland, the gaffer said.

‘The players have all worked exceptionally hard in pre season and, for the most part, they’ve put themselves into a situation where it’s going to be a tough choice. But because the squad’s not exceptionally big this year, all the players are going to be required, and everyone will play a significant part this season. We’ll need them all for sure.’

As for the injury to James Vardy and the subsequent substitution against Sunderland, Pearson admitted it was just precautionary because he felt his back go a little tight.

‘His back was a little tight, but Jamie’s a player that plays a lot of games so I’m not worried about that. Today we decided if there were any players with any little question marks we’d take them off.’
