Nigel Pearson has said it was the right decision to allow Yuki Abe to return home even though he had 18 months left on his contract.

Speaking to the Leicester Mercury the manager said he feels he would have been wrong to block the request from the player.

‘The event has been driven by him and in regard to the circumstances it would have been wrong to stand in his way. We will now look to bring someone else in. We wish him all the best for his future.’

The mutual termination was based on compassionate grounds so Abe could return home to his family, especially as his wife is expecting a child.
