Hearts captain Robbie Neilson has agreed terms with Leicester City according to BBC Sport. Neilson, 28, is available on a free transfer after deciding not to sign another contract at Tynecastle.

Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo had hoped to keep hold of the club’s longest serving player, but it appears as though the lure of Championship football with Nigel Pearson’s Leicester has emerged victorious.

Neilson joined Hearts from Rangers 13 years ago and has since made around 200 appearances for the club. It now appears as though the player will fill the right back void left by the on-loan Kerrea Gilbert, with the possibility that Gilbert himself may yet return to the Walkers next season.

Neilson will make his final appearance for Hearts in Saturday’s SPL showdown with Celtic.
