Jamie Scowcroft will return to the Walkers Stadium on Saturday after making a good start to his career at Crystal Palace. Since joining the Eagles at the beginning of the season he has managed to score 3 goals in 12 games and has put in some solid performances.

By signing for Palace, Scowcroft has once again linked up with Peter Taylor. It was Taylor who originally signed Scowy for Leicester in a £3M move from Ipswich in 2001. At the time Scowcroft was seen as an up and coming player, who if kept match fit could provide a vital addition to the Leicester strike force.

However, it was under Mickey Adams that Scowcroft actually made his mark on Leicester City. Adams preferred to use Scowcroft on the right side of midfield, allowing for a high cross field ball for Scowcroft to challenge for. Although Scowcroft never had any truly shocking games, he started to receive some stick from fans due to his lack of pace.

It was jokingly claimed by some Leicester City fans that Scowcroft was a mole and that he was only in the team because somehow he was related to Mickey Adams. The reason for this attitude from the fans was due to the fact Adams never seemed to drop Scowcroft from the team.

Scowcroft managed to play 140 games for Leicester and scored 28 goals. He may have received some stick from City fans, but come 3pm on Saturday the majority of fans will give Scowcroft a round of applause for his time at Leicester. This is a lot more then Peter Taylor can expect.
