The tumble-weed rolls past. Ssshh. Yes, it’s been somewhat of a quiet week on the rumour front, but despite this, manager Nigel Pearson has managed to tie up one deal for the summer.

th May: DJ Campbell – We kick off with a possible departure here, with the word that Blackpoool, QPR and Coventry are all battling it out for the player’s signature. Please, let the bidding war commence!

th May: Joe Mattock – Another player who could be leaving the Walkers this summer is Joe Mattock, with the rumour that the left-back is the subject of a £2m bid from Ipswich.

st May: Robbie Neilson – A confirmed transfer here. The Foxes swooped to sign Hearts’ captain and longest-serving player on a three-year contract on Thursday, making the right-back Pearson’s third summer signing following the capture of Jack Hobbs and Wayne Brown.

th May: Nathan Ellington – Nothing anywhere near concrete here, but according to our friends at Vital Watford, Pearson has joined the race to sign the striker. I should stress that this is only a very timid whisper though for now.

th May: Grzegorz Szamotulski – Yesterday we ran the story that the Hibs goalkeeper could be on City’s hit-list for the summer after impressing in his six-month spell with the Scottish side.
