A goal in the 94th minute from Wayne Routledge gave Fulham a 4-3 win over Leicester and capped a determined fight back from the Premiership team.

Leicester had lead the game 3-1 but two goals from Vicenzo Montella and the injury time winner from Wayne Routledge showed the difference in class between the two sides. It had all started so well for City; Matty Fryatt gave them the lead after 13 minutes with a well-taken goal from a Stephen Hughes pass.

Fulham equalised 10 minutes before the break when Brian McBride managed to find enough time in the box to bring the ball down and slot it past Paul Henderson. Leicester kept on fighting though and a Gareth McAuley header put them 2-1 in front on the stroke of half time.

Leicester looked to be matching the Premiership team and only couple of minutes into the second half James Wesoloski gave Leicester a 3-1 lead, with a great sliding shot from the edge of the area. Those City fans that might have dared believe that City had it in the bag were sadly mistaken.

Four minutes after City had taken a 3-1 lead Fulham were back in the game thanks to a simple tap in from Montella. The tide of the game swung in favour of Fulham and when Montella scored another to make it 3-3 there only looked like there was going to be one winner.

To add a little controversy to the final goal the linesman flagged for a foul as Routledge stood out on the wing with the ball, but the referee played on and as the City Players stood waiting for the whistle, Routledge continued his run and poked the ball past Henderson.

Although the linesman was flagging it appeared that it was a foul by Maybury on Routledge and therefore the referee was right to play on and give the advantage to Fulham.

With City now out of both cups they only have the league to concentrate on and the fans will be hoping the team can start to pull themselves up away from the relegation zone.
